Heavy rain did not stop the teachers of Banaybanay Elementary School from attending the turnover ceremony held at their school last August 09, 2016. Classes were already suspended and students were already instructed to go home at the time of the event, but teachers were still very enthusiastic, greeting HCG with their warm smiles despite the bad weather.

Halang Banaybanay Elementary School, located in Amadeo, Cavite, is one of the many bathroom-bereft schools in Cavite. One of their school’s major concerns is having access to a decent toilet facility on a daily basis. With this situation at hand, HCG, in its corporate social inititive called HCG Cares Toilet Donation Program, donated new bathroom fixtures to the school.

“Students’ access to quality bathroom facilities is now becoming very convenient.  Expect that we will take good care of the toilet fixtures in return” Abigail Marquez, a grade four teacher in Banaybanay Elementary School, said in Filipino. “Despite the bad weather, we were still able to deliver great news. Indeed, nothing is impossible to hearts that truly care” she added.

Through this activity, schools will not only be an institution for knowledge formation, but also an avenue that will educate everyone of the importance of hygiene. Now, through HCG Cares Toilet Donation Program, comfort is within students’ reach.
