ArchiNEXT Awards Night Of HCG MAKING DREAMS COME TRUE

Over two-thousand registered architects from all over the Philippines witnessed the most glorious night for ArchiNEXT 2016: HCG Young Designers’ Competition (AYDC) Grand Winner, Sergie Boy N. Bartolome of Don Honorio Ventura Technological State University, on April 22, 2016 at SMX Convention Center making the wildest dream of the aspiring architect come true. Beating 119 registered entries BIGKIS:Community Enrichment Facility design-challenge, Bartolome takes home Php 100,000 plus something that money can’t buy, an indelible recognition he will treasure for the rest of his life. Top 2 and 3 winners are Levi Gio Zen M. Santiago from Bulacan State University and John Will Jay D. Dumot of University of Northern Philippines, respectively. Aside from them, seven (7) contestants made it in the runners-up list. Three special awards were also given. Marko Alab Samwel G. Adviento of the University of Santo Tomas bagged the Most Innovative Award; Top 2 Winner Santiago also brought home the Best Presentation Award; and thru an online-voting system which ran for a month, the Most Popular Award went to Joseph Mari D. Fantonial of Cebu Institute of Technology-University. Aside from the contest, ArchiNEXT also awarded financial grants to five (5) scholars. Each received Php 30,000. To be a scholar, students must 1 join the competition by sending and entry based on the design challenge, 2 submit additional documents to prove financial standing and 3 must also be deserving by falling into the Top 50% spot. ArchiNEXT Awards Night is also in line with the 20th anniversary of HCG in the Philippines. It is ArchiNEXT: HCG Young Designers’ Competition is organized by Hocheng Philippines Corporation (HCG), United Architects of the Philippines (UAP) and Council of Deans and Heads of Architecture Schools in the Philippines (CODHASP).
